WINEMAKER'S NOTES

Produced from seventy-year-old Pinot Noir vines in the prestigious premier cru ‘Le Ronceret’, this wine is considered the domaine’s pinnacle. It boasts a deeper and darker profile than past vintages while maintaining elegance with a captivating aroma, refined tannins, and a long, mineral-driven finish. Aged in barrels for a year and crafted without sulfur, this Volnay exemplifies purity and finesse.

STORY

Founded by Frédéric Cossard in 1996, Domaine de Chassorney is renowned for its exquisitely natural wines and strict adherence to organic viticulture. The domaine, starting with small parcels in Saint-Romain and Auxey-Duresses, now spans ten hectares across several Côte de Beaune villages. Frédéric’s unique approach excludes chemical treatments, favoring compost from vine cuttings and homeopathic tinctures to maintain vine health. In 2022, Aurélien Verdet, a pioneer in organic farming, took over winemaking, continuing the tradition of long, gentle infusions for Pinot Noir and concrete egg élevage for whites, producing elegant, classical Burgundy wines.
