WINEMAKER'S NOTES

Bordeaux wine is crafted predominantly from Merlot, with select blends of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, and Carmenere. Grown on limestone-rich soils at 110 meters altitude, the grapes are hand-harvested, following ecological and biodynamic principles. Fermentation is with native yeasts, and aging spans 24 months in used foudres, without filtration or added sulphites, capturing the essence of its terroir with profound aging potential.

STORY

The Amoreau family at Le Puy estate, rooted in history since 1610, stands as a beacon of traditional viticulture in Bordeaux. This 17-hectare vineyard, managed by the 15th generation Jean-Pierre, Françoise, and Pascal Amoreau, blends heritage with innovation. Known for their pioneering approach, such as their early exploration of sulfur-free winemaking and the invention of the "fouilleuse" for shallow soil cultivation, Le Puy embraces a deep connection with nature. Certified biodynamic, the estate is distinguished by its unique methods like dynamisation and limited intervention in the cellar, ensuring wines of exceptional quality and character, echoing centuries of family expertise.
