WINEMAKER'S NOTES

A fusion of white and red grapes – Ottonese, Malvasia del Lazio, Sangiovese, Ciliegiolo, Moscato – from 40-year-old south-east facing vineyards, this wine showcases the harmonious balance of the region's limestone and clay soils. The grapes, meticulously macerated together for 7 days and then pressed in a hydraulic press, yield a wine that is not only fruity and juicy but also light and lively on the palate with a savory, fresh finish. Embracing biodynamic farming principles, "Freaky" stands out for its 100% natural production: no chemicals in the vineyards, no added sulfites, and a commitment to bottling it unfined and unfiltered.

STORY

Sete, led by lifelong friends Emiliano Giorgi and Arcangelo Galuppi, stands as a beacon of natural wine innovation in the Lazio region. Launched in 2013, their venture intertwines agricultural prowess with a cultural and social mission. They have revitalized abandoned vineyards in the Amaseno Valley, unearthing a treasure trove of biodiversity and rare, indigenous varieties like Ottonese, Cesanese, and Malvasia Puntinata. Their approach in the cellar is equally respectful and minimalist, championing native yeasts for fermentation and eschewing sulphites, ensuring each wine is a pure expression of its unique micro-terroir. Sete is not just a winery; it's a harmonious blend of tradition, nature, and innovation, crafting wines that are as authentic and diverse as the landscapes from which they hail.
