WINEMAKER'S NOTES

Sylvain Pataille's Marsannay Rouge is produced from 50-year-old vines across 3 hectares. The wine is aged in a mix of 2 to 10-year-old barrels, including old demi-muids, with around 25% whole bunches. This careful aging process imparts depth and structure to the wine while preserving its character.

STORY

Sylvain Pataille, an exceptional Burgundian winemaker, combines his consulting work for over 20 producers with managing his own 17-hectare vineyard in Marsannay. Known for his biodynamic practices, Sylvain champions minimal intervention, minimal sulphur, and restrained use of new oak. His expertise extends across an impressive range, producing notable reds, whites, and even distinguished rosés. Sylvain's commitment to biodynamics since 2015 and his focus on preserving old vine aligoté showcase his dedication to both innovation and tradition in Burgundian winemaking.
